Thermal Analysis of Bearing System in High-Speed Rail
Supervised by Prof. Wenzhong Wang, Sponsored by National Key Basic Research Program

Ai S., Wang W., Wang Y., Zhao Z., “Temperature Rise of Double-Row Tapered Roller Bearings Analyzed with a Thermal Network Method”, Tribology International, 87(2015):11-22.

  • Lead 1.5 years structural design/thermal analysis project, focusing on the thermal failure of bearing in high-speed rail.

  • Created thermal network analytical model to predict temperature rise and power generation based on Finite Element Theory.

  • Results in 5% temperature decrease at the most failed region, and 20% increase in life span.

  • Experince with: FEA Simulation, Structural/Thermal Modeling and Analysis, 3-D Modeling, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Lubrication,, Tribology and Design for Manufacturability.

  • Softwares: FORTRAN, AutoCAD, Pro/E, Origin.
